Overview

On 4 November 2026, CAP Freedom of Conscience will host an information meeting on the Universal Periodic Review of Hungary, in Room VII, Palais des Nations, Geneva, from 13:30 to 15:00.
Hungary is being reviewed as a new Government, formed in May 2026, presents its own vision in Geneva. United Nations documentation for this session records persistent concerns about minority religious communities: proceedings concerning confidential religious records and a church registration framework tied to political majorities.
This meeting is not an indictment of the past. It is an invitation. The Universal Periodic Review offers a neutral forum for dialogue, reform and the correction of inherited errors.
The panel will bring together CAP Freedom of Conscience, a legal expert and representatives of affected communities. A representative of the Hungarian delegation is warmly invited to participate.
