I conducted my first country visit as the UN Special Rapporteur on freedom of religion or belief to the Republic of Albania from 8-17 May, on the invitation of the Government. During my visit, I met with numerous interlocutors, including government agencies, civil society stakeholders ranging from clergy and other religious leaders to non-profit groups, human rights activists and defenders, political figures, academics, and members of the UN Country Team in Albania.
